Hello, 2015

Cuteness(Why am I naming days?)

1/1/15, Day 14,521 (Mercena Day 139): Hello, 2015

It’s hard to imagine 2015 getting off to a better start. After pulling Mercena into the bed after her early morning wake-up, we (safely) co-slept until the unheard-of hour known as 9am. She didn’t nap well in her bassinet, but slept through a two-hour walk in the middle of the day (she loves her stroller now). Heather and I visited our new favorite local coffee shop, Red Pipe Cafe (they have organic vegan food, as well). I managed to write, practice music and Spanish, and move a major Flux thing forward. Heather and I relaxed over some home-cooked green curry in what could actually be described as a romantic night at home. It was simply a great day.

I’m back at work today, and looking over what will be an even busier year than then the past two. No resolutions, no predictions, but here we go.

Technique never stands still: it only advances or retreats…

Writing: 170 out of 219 days (After Earth)
Spanish: 140 out of 219 days
Music: 70 out of 125 days
Yoga: 6 out of 9 days
No alcohol: 1 out of 1 days

(Yep, I’m not counting all the days between now and the last time I kept these tallies. Maybe one day I’ll be ready for that more ruthless accuracy, but for now, I’m erring on the side of aspirational.)

((Yep, I’m not drinking again, I don’t know for how long.))

What small things did I do yesterday to help build the Honeycomb?
(And what does it mean to “Help build the honeycomb?”)
