2/25/14, Day 13,789: Coffee and Blood
This day was not actually quite as exciting as the name I’ve given it: Coffee was spilled on my costume for Blood Brothers. My costume for Edmond is beautiful, but when I first put on my costume for the Orderly (a supporting interstitial thug), it felt dissonant with the character I had been developing (that’s on me for not asking, not on our awesome designer). The gentle leaders of the show allowed me to try a new character, a Southern Sadist as opposed to my New York Thug, but it was a no-go, mostly because we all have much bigger fish to fry. If we had time, I would’ve also played with a Fussy Englishman Orderly and a John Malkovich Orderly, but in the immortal words of Bill George, “another great idea might kill us”…
Technique never stands still: it only advances or retreats…

What small things did I do the past day to help build the Honeycomb?
(And what does it mean to “Help build the honeycomb?”)
- Helped prepare for Flux’s Have Another;
- Signed yet another (whooping crane focused) petition against the Keystone pipeline;
- Rehearsed Blood Brothers;
- Signed a petition against the “Guns Everywhere” bill in Georgia;
- Urged the PSC to approve the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s recent petition to extend the NY-Sun Initiative through 2023;
- Cooked vegetarian meals (mostly organic and vegan, some local) and added no additional food waste (like plastic bags, plastic water bottles, etc.);
